3.   The voluntary ss read the model essay aloud.

The ss, at first , were not sure with the meaning of narrative. After explaining it by using the function as a narrator in a story, they had a better understanding about the word. More exercises will be given for them to write a narrative essay.

The ss performed well for the debate. They were clear with the rules generally. In terms of fluency, all of them needed to improve especially on their pronunciation and diction except ‘ the host’. The organisation of ideas could be improved if they use transition markers accordingly. Time management was poor for 50% of them.

4K1: The tr gave ten minutes to those who failed to finish the exercise last week in order to complete it. They needed to pay more attention on capitalisation, spelling, and grammar.   
4K4: The tr gave ten minutes too to the class to complete their exercise. They needed more exercises for drilling purpose.

80% of the ss were still not used to use transition markers or suitable expressions to deliver their ideas. The odd start and confusion of their speech could be improved if only they use linkers to organize their points. They needed more exercise to and read more so that they could support their ideas persuasively and logically.

4K4: Most of the students were still blurred with the terms: custom and beliefs. The tr. re-explained to them by giving more examples. However, more than 50% of them did not know any customs or beliefs for  their own race or religion. The tr suggested them to ask their parents or friends about it.   
4K1: There were around 40% of the ss were also not so sure with the examples of customs and beliefs for their own race and religion. So, the tr gave more familiar examples to them.

Reflection
The ss were confused between the thesis statement (TS) of intent and thesis statement of opinion. Thus, the TS made was not clear. They were asked to redo their TS. Moreover, they did not see the importance of writing an outline. This might be the main factor why their ideas were disorganised or lack of connection for the previous essay writing exercise.

The ss enjoyed the game. However, no one could guess the phrases or words correctly. They were poor in expressing the meaning of the words shown. Likewise, they were lack of imagination even though the questions given were easy and simple.

They were confused with the sounds when it came to certain words with different letters from what they had been given in the notes. Besides, they pronounced the words wrongly though the sounds are been indicated correctly.
